“We figured all of this out ourselves. We didn’t want anyone else to have to.”

Our professional debut. For SF City FC — the club we grew up watching from these stands.

FOR PARENTS

Our dad had zero soccer background.
He is exactly who we built this for.

"Dad gave us everything he could. This is the one thing he could not find. We built it for him."

Our journey started at Beach Chalet — a couple blocks from where we grew up in San Francisco's Sunset district. Dad stood on the sideline in the fog and never missed a game.

He invested in everything he could find. What nobody gave us — not the clubs, not the coaches — was a system for what happened outside of practice. No nutrition. No mental framework. No recruiting plan.

We figured it out through broken feet, a gap year, health issues doctors said would end a career, and a recruiting process built from zero connections.

That is what Ascend gives your athlete. The system we had to build ourselves.

THE PROBLEM

You can’t tell if you’re behind. You can’t tell if all of it is working.

You add it up — club, camps, trainers, gear, travel — and the number scares you. You haven’t said it out loud.

You don’t know what your kid needs that you haven’t already paid for.

We built Ascend for the family we used to be.

THE SYSTEM

One system. Six pillars. The first one is mental.

We don’t train soccer players. We train the inside first — then the five physical disciplines that surround it.

01 Mental
02 Technical
03 Physical
04 Tactical IQ
05 Nutrition
06 Holistic

01 / MENTAL

Mental

Confidence when the score is 1–1 and hundreds of eyes are on you. The Funnel. Neutral thinking. Visualization protocols. Trainable the same way a first touch is trainable.

INNER EXCELLENCE · JIM MURPHY

02 Technical +

The first touch that keeps them on the field when teammates come off. Ball mastery, 1v1 patterns, finishing under pressure. Every progression position-specific — goalkeeper included.

COERVER · 1M+ PLAYERS

03 Physical +

Speed that closes down a winger in the 85th minute. Strength that holds position when it matters. ALTIS sprint mechanics, heavy sled work, Nordic curls. Built for the game, not the rack.

ALTIS METHODOLOGY · D1 S&C

04 Tactical IQ +

Reading the press before it comes. Knowing where the ball goes before it gets there. Scanning habits, pressing triggers, half-speed film. Pattern recognition is a habit, not a gift.

PEP GUARDIOLA · GULLIT · WILSON

05 Nutrition +

Energy in the 70th minute when others are running on empty. Pre-session fueling, game-day blueprints, recovery windows. Practical standards for athletes who train twice a day.

PERFORMANCE NUTRITION · D1 STANDARDS

06 Holistic +

The morning before the showcase. The day after the bad game. Sleep, mobility, soft tissue, injury prevention. The infrastructure that makes every other pillar compound.

Snake Weave into T-Drill

Coerver All ages

One of the most important ball control drills in the program. Combines tight-space dribbling with explosive change of direction. The snake weave builds foot speed and touch. The T-drill builds the sharp cuts you need in a real game.

How to execute

1

Snake weave. Dribble through cones using alternating inside-outside touches. Stay on the balls of your feet. Each touch should be soft and deliberate.

2

Exit move. At the end of the weave, execute a move to create space — drag back, Cruyff turn, or inside cut. This simulates beating a defender after carrying through traffic.

3

T-drill. Sprint into the T-pattern. Sharp cut left, shuffle across, sharp cut right, backpedal to start. Every direction change should be explosive — low hips, outside foot plants hard.

4

Combine. Full sequence without stopping — weave, exit move, T-drill. The transition between control and speed is where game performance lives.

✓ Key Cue

Ball glued to your feet in the weave. Explode out of every cut in the T. Two speeds — controlled, then violent.

✗ Common Mistake

Standing tall through the cuts. Low hips = fast cuts. If you’re upright, you’re slow.

"Cal was our dream school. As kids we would try to talk to Cal players after games, hoping for one tip. We built Ascend so your athlete never has to." — Kai and Miko Oppenheim · UC Berkeley Men's Soccer

What parents tell us when no one is listening.

“Ascend gave our family clarity. Instead of feeling lost in the recruiting process, we finally had a clear system and weekly action steps. It took so much stress off us as parents and gave our son a real plan.”

Parent of High School Striker

“The mental side has been the biggest transformation. Our daughter went from constantly doubting herself to stepping on the field with real belief. The work they do around confidence, presence, and handling pressure is incredibly valuable.”

Parent of 2028 Winger

“As parents, we wanted someone our son could relate to. Having active Division I athletes mentor him made all the difference. He listened because they had just lived the exact journey he wants to be on. His confidence, discipline, and consistency have gone to another level.”
